The Development and Studies Center is an
initiative of the Association of “The Friends of
Byblos”
Decree N° 144/ad - 2001 - Ministry of Interior
The Development and the Studies Center was
established On 1/7/2004 within “ The Friends of
Byblos Association.”
The objectives are:
- To study the needs of Jbeil, Kesrouwan and
Batroun districts.
- To propose development programs in cooperation
with international institutions, and other local
and civil bodies, with comparable ethos and
goals to the Friends of Byblos Association.
The
most important programs are concerned with rural
development and the preservation of local
heritage.
Our missions are:
- Statistical and documentary studies.
- Sociological and ecological studies.
- Promoting and coordinating different programs
with international bodies.
- Management of developmental programs.
Within this framework, the center is completing
a statistical study of the Jbeil
district.
It conducted and supervised several conferences
and studies on the social and economical
situation of the region, particularly relative
to the public debt issue.
Similar studies are underway concerning the
Kesrwan and Batroun districts. |
